PROJECT SUMMARY
88 MODULES, 14 SHIPMENTS
Together with BigLift, a total of 88 modules were transported from South Korea and Nantong to Lake Charles. Challenges such as a tight schedule, number, different shapes and sizes of modules were successfully overcome by the team’s engineering capability, dedicated technical operations and commercial expertise. The number and size of modules required up to 14 shipments, with sizes up to 45 x15 x 15 m, and weights as heavy as 665 t. The majority of the modules were shipped within three months, with as few as 10 days between different shipment dates. Conventional lifting gear did not suffice so the team commissioned two new lifting frames to be designed and built.
We were awarded the contract based on the efficiency and technical insight of the team and the overall strength of their logistics and project management capability. The modules now form part of Sasol’s Chemical Plant in Lake Charles.
