PROJECT SUMMARY

SEVERAL STRUCTURAL SUPPORT FRAMES FOR VESSEL AND CARGO TO ENSURE SAFE TRANSPORT

We have extensive experience in transporting wharf modules, platforms or bridge sections from manufacturing site to installation site. Our vessels and engineering capabilities even allow for direct displacement and installation.

An example of our competences hereto was the shipment of the beach platform structure “North Deck”: A beach platform for the Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai. Originally designed and constructed in Finland, it had to be manufactured in eight sections for the transport to Dubai. The heaviest piece weighed 740 t (52 × 44 × 4 metres), while the biggest piece weighed 640 t and measuring 79 × 35 × 4 metres.

Loading all eight pieces did not only require stacking but also several structural support frames for vessel and cargo to ensure safe transport. Finally stowed on deck, the cargo formed an aft overhang of 16, starboard overhang of 15 and portside overhang of 9 metres.
